Medical Bridges Houston
Houston, TX | Jan. 2021
In January 2021, the UT-San Antonio chapter of Blueprints for Pangea carried out a domestic medical supply shipment to Medical Bridges, a Houston-based nonprofit focused on repurposing surplus medical supplies and equipment to provide aid to underserved communities.
The supplies included in this shipment were valued at $48,000, consisting of medical supplies intended to support Medical Bridges’ extensive network of clinics and partners. As both the sponsor and recipient of the shipment, Medical Bridges ensured that the donated medical supplies would be quickly processed and distributed, especially due to the pressing need of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While the transportation method, weight, and pallet count were not recorded, the UT- San Antonio chapter was responsible for sorting, preparing, and coordinating the transfer of the supplies which was done successfully. Overall, this shipment was conducted very efficiently and successful and became especially meaningful as it helped Blueprints establish a recurring partnership with Medical Bridges.
