University of Miami Medical School

Chapter est. 2023

The University of Miami Medical School Chapter has two primary aims: i) To establish partnerships with health systems/organize medical supply shipments and ii) to conduct donation drives. The chapter is working on outreach to South Florida health systems and completed a shipment of medical supplies (e.g., surgical kits) to the Caribbean and part of South America in 2024. The chapter is also focused on conducting donation drives. Some of the donation drives completed by the chapter include: school supplies drives to children in various international cities and hygiene drive to families in need in local public schools. Other aims of the chapter include completing research related to Blueprints for Pangaea’s work and expanding chapter recruitment.

Executive Board

The University of Miami Medical School Chapter was founded in 2023 as the first Blueprints for Pangaea medical school chapter. The chapter consists of nine students and operates out of Miami, Florida, under the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The chapter is working on outreach to South Florida health systems and completed a shipment of medical supplies (e.g., surgical kits) to the Caribbean and part of South America in 2024. The chapter is also focused on conducting donation drives. These donation drives have been completed in partnership with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Global Institute of Community Health & Development, and some of the donation drives completed by the chapter include: school supplies donation drives to children in various international cities and a hygiene donation drive to families in need in local public schools.
