Dominican Republic 2016

In June 2016, the Vice Presidents of Operations at Headquarters, operated a substantial shipment to the Dominican Republic. With the great help of Seeds of Hope Love for La Victoria, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare in the Dominican Republic, pallets were sent to Archbishop and Seeds of Hope. The Dominican Republic faced, and currently faces, a critical shortage of medical supplies. Additionally, the climate exposes its citizens to disease, which can make provision of healthcare even more of a challenge.

Blueprints for Pangaea attempted to support the healthcare providers in the Dominican Republic in providing access to as many patients as possible. Because of this wonderful sponsorship, 170 boxes, containing 28,620 pounds of medical supplies, were sent overseas. The estimated valuation for the shipment was totaled to be about $286,001.00. Using ECU transportation, this shipment reached its location with a shipment cost of $1,790.25.

The shipment contained 209 Pedi-Let Preemies, 900 Pedi-Let Standards, blood sample collectors for infants. 89 cases of Pen Needle Xtras, and 84 cases of Pen Needle Micros typically used for insulin delivery.

Unfortunately, the medical supplies burned before anyone was able to use them. However, this shipment highlights Blueprints for Pangaea’s efforts to make an impact on as many different areas internationally as possible.
